The Founder and President of Young Equipment sales, Rich has over 38 years of experience in the school industry.
COO/Chief Financial Officer
With Over 45 years of experience in the High Tech, Construction, and Equipment Industries, Brian has been with Young Equipment Sales since 2011, and serves as the COO and CFO. Brian is proud of his team's focus on continuous learning, process improvement, their commitment to superior levels of customer service, and he enjoys the sense of comradery he experiences with the rest of the YES staff.
"Recently, I had the pleasure of spending a whole day with all of the Young Equipment Sales Inc. corporate team where we spent the day in a facilitated process that focused on recommitting ourselves to our customer base, each other, enhancing interpersonal skills development and building an increased level of trust and dependency that transcended both a business and professional level. I can truly say that it was one of the most gratifying meetings I have participated in during my 45 years of professional experience."
Director of School Furnishings
Harriet has been with YES since 2001, serving as the Director of Educational Services, and she absolutely loves what she does. Making customers happy and finding solutions for their needs keeps her going day after day. "I love getting calls of delight from my customers," says Harriet. "Sometimes I'll suggest that they try a different manufacturer, and they'll be hesitant, but in the end, they trust my judgement. Once the product is delivered and everyone loves it, I always hear back about how happy they are with the new items and how my products are superior to what they'd been using in the past."
Associate Director of School Furnishings
Randi has been working on and off for Young Equipment since 2000. In that time, she became a high school teacher, moved to Tennessee and had a family. She is back in NY and has been back working for YES for a year. She is deeply entrenched in the school furniture market and comprehends it from both a teachers' perspective as well as a business perspective, understanding the ins and outs of the industry.
Director of Service and Repairs
Dennis has been with YES since 2001, as the Director of Service and Repairs. The ability to be an entrepreneur, and the creative challenges he faces daily are Dennis' favorite parts about the job. Dennis cites honesty and integrity as two of the most important traits YES has instilled in him as a worker. "Many years ago, a customer called for a quote asking us to move 88 lockers, but after looking at them, I saw that there were really only 44 frames involved. When I showed Rich the quote, he explained that the best solution was to revise the quote, and give the client the best price possible. The people at YES are always putting people before profits and I really like that about this company. We even do some work for that school district at no charge, YES is just that kind of place."
Assistant to the Director of Service & Repairs
Amanda has been a part of the YES Team since April 2016.
One of her favorite things about working for Young Equipment Sales is that the team she works with is solution-seeking and that the office culture is positive and builds camaraderie. Weekly lunch with the ladies in the office is the highlight of her week, and she enjoys learning something new everyday!
Gymnasium Equipment Division
Jamie has been a sales representative since 2002 in the Gym Equipment Division, and thrives on the constant action. Each day provides Jamie with a uniquely different challenge and an opportunity to exceed both his personal best and industry standards of customer service. "I absolutely love the thrill of a new client turned raving YES fan for life."
One of Jamie's fondest memories was the prestigious chance to coordinate the renovation of the massive 5,000 seat Lou Carnesecca Arena at St. John's University. Fitted with both fixed and telescoping bleachers by Interkal, this project was a prime example of the YES' flawless work and the premium quality of their product line. In fact their product line is so comprehensive, it includes everything needed, from All American scoreboards to Spaulding gym equipment, to completely outfit your next project.
Bonnie joined the YES team in 2014. I enjoy working with the various Line Leaders to compile information in order to submit our bids. I thoroughly enjoyed the company picnic and being able to spend time getting to know my co-workers and meeting their families.
Director of Casework
John has been in the cabinet industry since 1980. He started in the Carpenters Union Apprentice Program and stayed with them for 4 years.
In 1996, John went out on his own to work as a carpenter and continued for 18 years. In 2014 John joined Young Equipment Sales and has been using his extensive experience and knowledge to design and install cabinetry for them since. Some of his projects include custom cabinetry in Science rooms, Art rooms and Music rooms in several schools K-12. Other projects include design and installation of laboratories and office spaces for Hospitals, and Research Centers. John’s passion is to design and build cabinetry, as well as helping solve issues with cabinets and storage solutions.
Director of Theatre Services
Adam Cole, an Engineer from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), and Victor D’Errico, an Audio Engineer from Baruch College share joint responsibility for Young’s Theatrical Service and Supply division. They provide the design, sale and installation of Theatrical and House Lighting (incandescent and LED), Audio Systems, Stage Rigging and Safety Inspections, Auditorium Seating, Custom Drapes and Soft Goods.

NYC Business Development
Marci started at YES in 2013. She enjoys that each day is different and also enjoys meeting new people to build relationships with and help solve their problems. "YES is a great company with different people with different strengths. They are a family owned business that cares about each client but have big business capabilities!", says Marci.
Long Island Business Development
Marlene joined Young Equipment Sales in 2010. "My job is never boring. The diversity of customers and projects makes for an exciting day every day.Anytime an installation happens the feeling of seeing the job from concept to completion makes for a memorable experience. When designing a work space it's not just about picking out furniture you like. You have to remember a better environment means better morale which means greater productivity."
Westchester Sales & Business Development
Rick has been with the YES team since April 2016. One of the things he enjoys most about his job is meeting new people and helping them find solutions that meet or exceed their needs! Simply meeting the YES team has been one of his most memorable times as a part of our company. He is looking forward to creating a seamless transition into the Westchester, Bronx and Queens regions, and hopes to solidify old as well as new relationships in those areas.
Lee Ann Schmitt
Office Manager, Administrative Support
LeeAnn joined the YES team in 2014, bringing with her over 30 years of Administrative and Accounting experience. She enjoys the diversity of work and the support she provides to the Line Leaders and Sales Reps. The recent YES company picnic was great as we not only got to enjoy each other's company outside work but also got to meet everyone's extended families.
Amanda has been a part of the YES Team since 2016.
One of her favorite things about working for Young Equipment Sales is that the team she works with is very personable and everyone works together as a team to get things done! She enjoys the ability to enhance and further develop her skills in a number of areas including customer service, marketing and accounting.
Jo-Anne joined the YES family in 2009. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business, Management and Economics with a concentration in Accounting from SUNY Empire State College and brings over 15 years of extensive experience in the field. She is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and interpreting all accounting functions in the Accounting Department, payroll and budget adherence, and works closely with the CFO/COO to maintain the integrity of all financial data for the benefit of the company. When she's not crunching figures, Jo-Anne enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering her time, resources, and energy to the community. Fondest memories: When one person suffers we all suffer together! The love and support I received when my mom died was AWESOME. I was blown away when the entire office wore purple to support my husband in a company-wide event "The fight to solve the cruel mystery of Lupus!"
Accounts Receivable Specialist
Leslie has been with the YES family since 2005. Her favorite things about working for YES is the people. She has many memorable experiences from the time she has worked for YES, including the 4th of July picnic, holiday parties, retirements and birthdays.
Accounts Payable Specialist
Diane joined the YES team in 2015. One of her favorite things about working at Young Equipment Sales is the warm workplace environment. "Everyone genuinely loves what they do, excels at their job, and loves working with one another. I look forward to expanding my skill set and growing within the YES team."
Accounting Clerk/Administrative Assistant
Jéniece joined the YES team in June of 2011. She enjoys working on a wide array of different roles within the company and is grateful for the opportunity to share and enhance her skills, talents, and experience with the Accounting and Admin Department. "I appreciate the family oriented environment and the flexible work schedule which allows me to devote time interpreting for the Deaf community," says Jéniece.
